Tronimation
Tronimation is a little program I began to write because I wanted a
way to create new things of Tron but can't think of any way to mimic
the glowing edges accurately without writing them into a
raytracer. The first version of Tronimation started in June 2004, and ended in late
December that same year. It never did more than polygons, and thus
would never have been able to do CSG. I made a handful of
quasi-interesting images with it, but it just didn't work very
well.
At roughly the same time this year, early in July, I began writing a
new program I dubbed Tronimation 2. My first step was to create a
working raytracer, and I've succeeded. The new program does planes and
spheres and lighting so far.
You can download Tronimation2 here. You need
to have functional installations of OpenGL, Glu, and Glut
(for Windows) before it
will compile.
Here is a picture rendered with Tronimation-20051108. There are two
lights and 5 spheres sitting on a small game grid.
