DIY Projects

I've got a thing for coming up with little projects that one can build at home. Sometimes they have no tangible benefit, other times they can actually prove useful. Here's a list of the things in my little shop of horrors. Most of them are very very dangerous and some (particularly those involving high voltage) could kill you. Therefore, By viewing this page and/or doing anything depicted here, you agree that I am not responsible for any harm they may cause to you or your property. Some of these devices are EXTREMELY dangerous, and they will kill you if you make the wrong mistake.

• Using a Tandy Model 100 laptop + custom circuit to drive a telescope :: Stepper controller / motor works, need to buy stepper <-> telescope gearbox
• Along that line, building a Cockroft-Walton Voltage Multiplier
• Can't make a Cockroft-Walton without a Marx Generator!
• Fun with arcs or how I became immune to ozone and nitrogen dioxide. There's all kinds of fun stuff you can do with a 360 watt electric arc!
• Levitation of carbon over magnets.
• Holograms are always cool - especially when you don't need an optical table to make them!
